Hi all,

Picked up an 83 city. Its an auto as I'm tall I found it better than my old manual to drive. Lots to do as its brown (not for long) very solid, just some surface rust, Need to upgrade front drums to discs as they are awful.

Good to be here

Jay.

Don't listen to Iain - I'm closer! Where abouts are you in Woking?

I've also got an '83 city. That seems to be quite a popular year

Hi there

Welcome to TMF, I'm from Woking so know it well, I'm in Farnham now so not too far away.

Apart from a colour change have you got other plans for your mini?

Hi there, thanks...small world. I need to convert front drums to discs, and in an ideal world convert to a 1275 manual, but I am loving the auto and find I have a lot more room (i'm 6ft 4") but understand not many people like the auto's so its not worth as much, but for me its a keeper, so value not important.

Forgot to say, anyone local that needs a hand, let me know, have a (small garage) and a fair amount of tools/knowledge, will work for food/tea.

Take care

Jay.

Wow...who says you can't have a mini if you're tall!

A friend of mine who's over 6ft took my mini for a spin last weekend and couldn't get her into 3rd as his knee was in the way - I'll tell him to try harder next time :-)

I'm 6'2 and manage fine haha. I do seem to be touching legs with my passengers a lot though, and sometimes hold their leg instead of the gear stick, but apart from that, all good!
