if you have a problem with the pistons, I can machine and re-dish as required.

AC

cheers pal will bear you in mind!

spoke to the engineer and he is going  to machine the piston crown's down.

also if i remove thou off the piston crown, how many cc's would i have lost from the 9cc dish?

thanks for the help,

bear.

I need to know your original dish depth for that. The dish will also likely need machining not just the crown to get the cr where you need it.

ahh its this piston CLICK

ive given it to the engineer now and he's going to machine the pistons and "re-dish" back to 9cc. just goes to show how much time/money goes into engine building.

am also having unleaded valve seats fitted to the head, what sort of price should i expect?

Before machining the pistons would be worth measuring all of them in the block as built to see exactly how much each one sticks above the deck, you may find there are differences. The machining can compensate for these differences as long as you know exactly how much to take off each one.

How far down the block are you planning to take them?

Also for what it's worth I would suggest you put a few extra cc's into the head rather than redish the pistons.

That piston is perfect for these mods, do not make the dish deeper as they are only nominally 0.25" thick in the centre. Have them machine deeper at the edges of the dish. Only remove the minimum to get the CR where you need it.
Aim for a deck height of 0.010" negative. If I were doing this I would machine one and measure it till I got the volume to the size I needed. I would them replicate on the other 3.
