I'm Martin from Wellington in New Zealand.
My first ever car was a MG Metro ... which kept breaking down as I drove it too timidly as a 20 year old.
I now own a Rover 1.3 SPI Automatic which does not seem fast enough, as I'm now a much faster driver at 50 !
I'm about to pick up a working MG Metro ... and want to put all the bits into a MK1... and do some 'hotting up' of the engine, exhaust etc on the way.
What I would loved to have done at 20 but did not have the time or ready money to do.... now I have both.
Doing some reasearch at the moment to look at what will need to be done.
The masterplan is to make the new 'old style' mini for myself and give the Automatic to my lad.
