Afternoon, just been on a little outing and on some lovely b roads I overtook a tractor. As I got to third and 3000 rpm the car suddenly jerked and loss all power. Wouldn't go past 3000rpm. I pulled over and when out of gear it would pass the 3000 rpm Mark. it's a 79 clubman with a 1300 metro turbo engine in. Any help would be amazing.
Thanks

Sounds like it may have blown a boost pipe off

Checked boost pipe and everything is intact. My mate believes it could be the carb needs a rebuild because it did over fuel past 3000rpm before it stopped going past 3000 rpm

I mean before this problem developed last week. The week before I noticed it overflows with fuel past 3000. After a Sunday drive with a strong smell of fuel past 3000. And now it won't go past 3000. It drives normally till then. Around 3000 it bounces and shudders and won't fight past it

Will it rev past 3000rpm off load ? it would have to be seriously rich to not rev over 3000rpm and it would be black smoke as well, and I can't think of anything in the carb that would allow it to run ok below and not above 3000rpm. I'd be looking at the turbo setup as it suddenly died do it make boost?
