Chaps

To add to my woes

Put my hand under the centre console i fitted last year and found a clear odourless liquid in there

It was water at my best guess but there was a very slight sort of slipperiness to it? maybe i imagined it,

Any ideas?

Most likely the heater matrix leaking. Its a common problem, van also be the feed or return pipes. Have you checked your coolant level recently?

Probably is water from a leaking heater matrix. Mine went last year and the water was for want of a better phrase gloppy, think it was caused from the anti freeze crystallising in the matrix.

Not a big job, just a bit fiddly. You do need to make sure you get the correct type of matrix for the year of your car. I got mine off Demisterman on Ebay.
