Anyone ever done this?

Throttle shaft definately has too much movement and seeing as the carbs are off the engine, i might as well fix the issue.

I've got the bushes and new shafts as part of a rebuild kit.....just need to figure the reaming bit out.

Is it something easily done by someone with a fair bit of spanner spinning experience and a brain (that works before anyone makes a joke) or just for the pro's?

I realise i will have to buy a line reamer....but how hard can it be? (famous last words!!!)

SU want £50 per carb to re-bush, so i'm sure I can buy the correct tools for less than £100.

Any help or advice greatly appreciated as google searches seem to throw up yank websites.

back cutting a reamer and feeding it through the wrong way is one of the cheapest ways. if you can get hold of a reamer with a small enough pilot you can bond a guide piece onto it.

i got hold of a stepped reamer and had a guide made to fit over the smaller steps, think it was for remote control plane propeller?

I copied it from a post here by AC and it is listed as you need a 9.2mm drill followed by a 9.5mm parallel reamer.

Hang on, the sizes depend on what carbs. Those sizes are for hS4 carbs. I use a pillar drill for this. I can do this for £20 per carb.
