Right now I'm trying to get my mini started today but I'm having a few issues

Right now I've followed the Hanes manual

And I've connected up the white and black wire to the negative side of the coil on the white wire to the positive side of the coil

And connected the other white and back wire to the dizzy and I'm getting no spark on the plugs

Now I have to white and purple wires but I have no idea what there for

It's a Lucas sports coil I'm using

Is this the first engine start from a rebuild or storage?

Lucas sports coil have to be wired with a 12v live with ignition switched on and the +ve dizzy, negative is the white and black (two connectors for the coil, one to the dizzy)

purple is oil pressure sender iirc..

Right I'll wire in a live feed from the fuse box and see if that helps

And yeah it is a first start

So it's rather exciting

Right I have a live feed hitting the coil of the loom which is the white wire so there's no need to supply the car with a 12v feed, there's a black and white wire attached from the negative side and the dizzy side, and I'm still getting no spark at the plugs at all, so It could be down to points

Right I've just checked that I was getting power through the Leeds by putting one end of my voltmeter in the of the dizzy lead and earthed it on the shell and managed to earth it through my at the same time now I felt the power being there so when inspecting my plugs there not the best so I think it should be an easy issues of getting new plugs for it

Fingers crossed
