hi, just wondering if there is a way of removing this? or is it welding into the fuel tank?

would I be better off buying an earlier fuel tank without one fitted?

also do all standard fuel tanks fit all mini?

thanks

All saloon tanks will fit all saloons.

There is extra pipework, fuel return thingy (technical term  ) on injection tanks that wont be needed for carb minis. Guess they could be blocked off?

Just out of interest, why do you want to remove it?

Just put of interest, why do you want to remove it?

I was expecting this question, basically my fuel gauge works for the 1st half of the tank (or appears to be accurate) then once it gets to just above half a tank, the needle kind of does what it wants and either reads accurate (as far as I can tell) or sits just above the red and doesn't go any lower, short term its just easier if I could see inside the tank, long term, ill change the dial and fuel reader in the tank but its just a short term fix so I can tell where im at because I was on the red for 4 days and went and filled up and only got £11 in till it was full

makes sense, you could also use an old aerial as a dipstick. Would save the hassle of swapping the tank.

ye ive been using a length of side trim, which would suggest I current have a 1/3 of a tank, which based on what ive put in and the miles ive done would be accurate
