I've insured my Mini with Adrian Flux, i've told them that i've got two years no claims bonus on another car (Ford Fiesta). Now I need to upload a document to prove this as stated on their website:

"Please upload confirmation from your other insurance provider that your policy is still active and the current no claims bonus entitlement on that policy. (This can be a copy of your motor insurance schedule)."

So this is all fine, I just need to send a copy of my current policy.

However now i'm trying to renew my policy on my Fiesta... I've spoken to Endsleigh (My current Fiesta insurer), I told them that I need my proof of no claims for my policy on my Mini and they said they can't renew my Fiesta insurance using the no claims bonus because i've used that on the Mini now...

So because i've used my Fiestas no claims bonus on my Mini does this mean i'm now... going to have to purchase insurance without a no claims bonus for my Fiesta? Or does classic car insurance differ to standard insurance, as I won't be earning NCB from my classic car insurance?

Can only tell you about my classic insurance, our daily drivers are insured with what I would call an everyday insurer which includes our NCBs and for our classic minis we are insured with a classic car insurer, Peter Best, these policies do not include a NCBS facility. So I am unsure whether classic policies give NCB. Check with your mini policy provider and see if you carry a NCB with them amd also if you can include your daily driver on the same policy.

I have a similar type of policy with AF on my mini and had to prove my no claims as above. However it doesn't affect my no claims on my regular drive, it sounds to me like Endsleigh have got confused when you asked them for proof of no claims and assumed you were swapping it to another car.

When I had 2 cars, an 07 fiesta zetec s and an 07 pug 207 hdi sport, I had to have two separate policies, due to my age and I was only allowed to use my no claims on one car. So I insured the peugeot with no no claims bonus.

You need to talk to both companies.

If you're not earning no claims on the classic policy, then hopefully you haven't "used" your no claims on that policy.

The wording on the Adrian Flux portal makes me believe my no claims bonus isn't being tied into the policy because of the wording on the site: "Please upload confirmation from your other insurance provider that your policy is still active and the current no claims bonus entitlement on that policy. (This can be a copy of your motor insurance schedule)."

Will let you know tomorrow though once I give them a call!

Emailed Adrian Flux, basically I can use my no claims bonus on both vehicles.

"We can advise that we have your policy based on two years no claims bonus in use on another vehicle. Therefore, your two years no claims bonus is not in use on this policy and is free to be used on your other policy for renewal."
