seems like i am having problems left right and center

now when i set my hi/los at a lower setting, the cones seems to pop out when i hit a large bump

i have to jack the car up and reset it

any ways to eliminate it from popping out when i set the car at a lower setting ?

is this where (Shorten) shocks come into play ??

please help

thanks

Shorter shocks are good, you can also get lowered shock brackets for the front

It is, though replacing the rubber cones could be a more effective solution if the lack of travel is because they're old and hard.

I had the same trouble with my 1977 Clubman, so I got Gaz Shocks in UK to make me a custom set for the rear. 10 inches fully compressed, 14.5 inches fully extended. This cost me 50 GBP plus freight. This stopped my HiLo from disconnecting from the rubber donut when fully extended. Their email is technical

No, depending how long you go, you need shocks to match.

I run minitastic springs, with gaz lowered shocks. Never had any issues with the springs popping out etc, because its been installed properly.

Jack the car up, let the radius arm hang down, you will see the trumpet (hi lo) coming loose with the cone. Adjust the hi lo HIGHER so that even at full droop the trumpet is secure with the cone. Your car wont be as low at the rear, but id rather be a little higher and safe. This will prevent the dislodging you are experencing until you get the correct shocks to prevent this. The lowered shocks limit the droop of the radius arm so the hi lo doesnt become dislodged.

you need something to limit the drop in the suspension, shorter shocks will do this

you haven't commented on the age of your suspension cones from the question above, are they old and hard (lost springiness ) ?
