So my boot lid is shut, locked and watertight yet still looks like it isnt shut properly. Doesn't sit flush at all. Have tried adjusting the hinges and no improvement. Anyone have any ideas why this could be? My car is a MK3, so maybe the wrong boot lid? Or could it be something as simple as the wrong seal maybe? Any ideas and suggestions welcome :-) Wont let me upload the photos i just took for some reason. Thanks for lookingAttached File  1.jpg   33.01K   26 downloadsAttached File  2.jpg   35.73K   26 downloadsAttached File  3.jpg   37.21K   25 downloads

Is your seal on the boot lid, or on the body?

Has the hinge panel been repaired or replaced in the past as if it's not positioned correctly can cause issues, if it's out at top you may be able to get fit better by putting thicker gasket under the hinge where it bolts to the hinge panel as the fit isn't as noticeable at the bottom.
You need to post a pic to help identify the problem.

I'm with Daz1968, i would be adding a couple of shims to the hinges on the hinge panel. Don't go mad though just try a couple. You can fashion some out of some sheet aluminium or steel to see what you actually need.

I have done this on my clubby but my issue is due to previous accident damage.
