Bu66er! I thought I was onto a winner when the bolts came out in tact when I removed the rear subframe, however on reassembly one of the captive nuts in the heal board has stripped.
Suggestions for repair? Don't want to have to weld in a new panel as the shell is all nice and newly painted!
My two thoughts so far are -
1) Drill hole in box section inside car large enough to get a nut and a spanner in (may need longer bolt through subframe mount). This shouldn't be too difficult as I have no rear pockets etc in the way anymore.
2) Re-tap the nut to mate and use a socket head cap screw (I think a normal mate bolt head would be too large to sit against the subframe mount effectively).

I would go with option 1...
you could re-tap the thread but it can be a pain in the butt..
If you have no bins anyway then a little flap for access is all you need.
there was a post on here about it..

What I've done before, with a pretty good success rate is...
Using a punch, smack the captive nut into the sill, and then enlarge the hole using a hex shaped punch allowing enough roon to put a new 5/16" UNF nut in the hole. weld it in, and grind flat...
