Evening,

Had the tracking sent on the old shed today at a standard local tyre fitting place as it was convenient.

The guy was banging on about my camber being wrong in terms of its + or top of wheel out and it being adjustable on a cam. it's a 1987 mini that has had hi/lo and brand new cones under 100 miles fitted but the ride height isn't what I would class as low. About 4" arch gap between my 12" wheels with 165/?? 12 tyre on.

So I thought that mini's where + camber at the front from standard and there is nothing apart from buying the negative camber brackets and adjustable tie rods you can do about it.

Any help much appreciated.

You can't adjust the camber on a mini unless you have adjustable / fixed negative arms fitted on the front and adjustable brackets on the rear.

Though unless it is extreme it doesn't matter. I think ( but don't quote me on it, maybe do a search) but the factory tolerance included a positive camber.

If however, you want the car set up perfectly, fit adjustable arms, brackets etc.

You might find that if the cones haven't settled yet the camber angle will decrease slightly.

Some modern cars are adjusted with a cam! This guy clearly didn't know what he was looking at.

The magic words were 'Cooperman camber' :-)

Glad it wasn't me missing something. I told the guy that he was mistaken but he just looked at me like I had know idea what I was talking about. Drives much better now.
