I had literally joined the brown/yellow wire to the wire coming from the bulb. I think I'll just wire it up to one of those bulbs shown in the pic as it'd be simpler and as I'm not really clued up on wiring! I've still got to put resistors on the fuel sender as my fuel gauge is reading wrong but to be frank I haven't a clue what where to out the resistors and how to wire them in. Pretty sure I saw a thread with this so I'll try find it.
The white ignition wire coming from the plug of the old speedo, this doesn't feed anything else apart from the ignition warning lamp does it?

It's the instrument supply to the whole gauge cluster. What do you think is powering the temperature gauge you have in there?
I was under the impression that A127s could use either system, but not both. As in there are different regulators for the two different types. I know they have consolidated the range quite a lot though.
