Hi All, Daxie Here

Just bought a South African Built 1974 Mini GTS - as a personal project and just love the little devil.

  • 10" wheels/rims - look similar to cosmic but cant find them on the wheels directory
  • has the original 7.5" disk brake and assembly
  • modified - cam
  • 1380 re-bore - done a year ago according to previous owner
  • performance branch and pipes
  • 2nd oil inter-cooler / radiator

Plans:

  • Need to replace valves, guides, and seals, (smoking blue a bit and more so when on heavy throttle when warm)
all compression is good and no oil leaks on outside of engine.
  • Replace all hoses and brake master cylinder
  • remove minor rust in usual places i.e. roof gutter, then new custom respray as well as boot and engine bay
  • re-chrome all bumpers
  • replace back side windows, they are a bit scratched up
  • has twin SU may move to single weber
  • refurbish wheels / rims maybe colour code with a powder coat
  • refurbish interior, not bad shape but could have been done a lot better i.e. the required PSI, temp gauges required when running a performance engine Which means new dash to start

That is all the wallet will take for the next few months.

Thanks

Daxie

Hi, I don't know if you still have your GTS but there is a fair amount of info if you know where to look. For instance, a site called The Classic Register has a lot of info on that car.
