the HT leads on this Mini of ours seem to be very long (twice the length they should be) -

1- 50cm

2 - 45cm

3 - 38cm

4 - 38cm

centre king lead - 38cm

They are looped up and cable tied to each other.

We are trying to eliminate a spark issue, could the length of the wires be causing poor sparks?

Should I cut them down or is it best to buy new ones?

Has anyone used these?

The very best way to sort out Mini ignition is to buy a length of copper-core HT cable from someone like AES Ltd. Then buy a set of screw-on plug caps and distributor end connections (unless it's a very early type distributor). Cut the HT lead to the right length for each plug, fit the new ends and it will work fine and look right with no unnecessary length so it will be tidy.

+1 on Cooperman's advice.  Homemade solid core wires with resistor terminal/plugs can make the wiring very neat and is a satisfying project in its own.
