Just curious to see how people have mounted up their front plates for North American, taller/narrower rectangular number plates.  The existing bracket hole are too wide for the plates over here, so I can just run a metal strip across with holes drilled, but curious as to what others have done.

When I had my Mini on the road previously, I'd just left the front plate in the car in case I was pulled over.  Some jurisdictions seem to make it a bigger deal than others, and some only require a rear plate anyway over here.  Depends where you live.

Sidenote: I inquired with Ontario's Ministry of Transportation to see if I could display my UK plate that my Mini came with (I thought it might look more interesting than the standard white-with-blue edge Ontario plate). Big, emphatic "No!" from them.  Oh well.

Pic is from google search, for reference purposes.  Wish I owned that!

The Aussie ones are a similar proportion, we had a bracket that stepped it up over the bumper.

I've seen a lot of Japanese minis with their new plate over the top of the UK one, maybe you could get away with that?

Thanks Tim.  I figure I can come up with some sort of bracket, or maybe even cut off the existing brackets and tack them in the correct spots for North American sized plates.
