Why not just get your car on the road first? its not needed really, imo better spent elsewhere.

Why would you even need a quickshift on a road car...

Short shifters are a little pointless imo, my standard one is short enough by my standards, the shorter ones tend to feel a little notchy and make it easier to crunch the gears together as it reduces the time required for synchronisation to happen. I would just make sure your shifter is in good condition and if not replace all the bushes and such

If you try to shift faster you will simply 'graunch' the gears. There is nothing wrong with the standard gear change mechanism so long as it isn't worn.

Iv never driven a mini with a quickshift so I was just guna got one to see what it's like

If that's the case of girding gear il leave it as I'm not ruining my sccr box

With my SC CR 'box when changing gear I usually don't even use the clutch when road driving.

Cooperman was brought up in the age of crash boxes! It's a matter of synchronising engine speeds and gear speeds.

You usef to be able to buy an extension that screwed onto the thr top of the gearstick which you screwed your gearknob onto, I've got one, want to buy it? I can put up some pictures

That was also the other reason length as I have bucket seats and I'm about 6" tall so I'm abit further away from gear stick and quickshift is angled

it wouldnt be hard to get something made up to match the threads of the gear stick and make an extension the size you require
