Having a bit of bother with the choke.

What happens is when i pull it out it works great, but when i go to put it in again the Choke knob goes in all the way but it doesnt disengage in the engine. this causes the engine to struggle, flood and cut out.

I live in scotland and in the cold mornings it takes a while to get going! haha.

Any help would be much appreciated. cheers.

The cable may be nadgered, it may just need an oil, or the cable run could be the problem. Best bet is to drop off the cable and see if it is free or not. If its isn't, oil it and see if that helps, if not its new cable time.

Should also have mentioned that you need to check the carb end to see what's happening, just take off the air filter and have a look. Would be unlikely to be a carb issue though, far more likely to be the cable.

it needs to be lubricated throughout. Proper way is with a cable lubricator, but most people don't have one. Take it off at the carb end and drip oil down it while working it back and forth. If you have a spare screw on nipple then stick it on the end to stop it pulling through. Motorbike chain lube works really well if you have any.
