Would've thought so, they're A series too arn't they? I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will come along and confirm but I'm pretty certain they will

Absolutely.  There are differences in the valve covers regarding where the PCV/emissions hoses connect to the covers but virtually all A-series valve covers will fit.  The only fit issues I am familiar with are where non-standard rocker arms are installed along with alloy valve covers... presumably not the case here.

I could be wrong, but I was told the reason that the oil filler was at the right hand end as you look at it was because of the engines RWD heritage. It was only on the metro when they put it in the middle.

Tamworthbay is correct. I know, because I used a Moggy rocker cover on my first Mini, the original having been distorted by overtightening by a previous owner. The Moggy was a complete scrapper, even by todays standards where many such cars are now considered to be restorable, had lain in the woods for several years, and provided very few other useful parts. I did try the seats, but had to butcher the mountings for them.
