Anyone got a few pics of bonnet straps?
Having a nightmare week, collapsed at work Monday and today both my bonnet catches failed resulting in a write off bonnet and a damaged scuttle :(

Not too keen about straps but worried about a repeat and at a £250 bill I'd rather not

Something to suit

I reckon a black leather strap would look good on the drivers side.

I run a single strap.

You could rig up a chain / steel wire with a small clip to the front panel? I have seen it done.

but I like the strap on my car, but I did buy the minispares one which is very good quality

I'd like to fit a single strap. You don't need the spring catch with straps do you because mine is getting on my tits. I've spent ages adjusting it all but the bugger still pops up when driving (different bonnet). Also would 1 strap be safe without the spring catch?

Cheers

Bonnet Straps are the shiz! Not biased or anything! :shifty:

Run a pair of tan leather ones, people comment about them being 'belt buckles' all the time, but I love 'em.

So I'll be alright to do away with the spring catch with just a single strap?

I'm looking at putting some straps on mine and doing away with the spring catch. Has anyone else got any photos? How does it look going over the grille piece on the end of the bonnet?

Thanks
Dave
