Hi
New to this forum and have just bought a '73 M Mini 1000 it's been fitted with a 1275 engine 13x7 wheels and is Matt black.
It does seem to be a very sound car (restored ) but will never be a peach in terms of a looker without fortunes £s spent on the body, but for the plans I have its ideal.
I will up date as I progress. The last Mini I owned was back in 1988 and it was a tidy Mini 1000 '74 on an N.
Before that I have owned since 1971 to 88 about 10 cars vans and estate cars.
Looking forward to getting into my new acquisition and getting it properly sorted for HRCR Road Rally work in the future. I current run a Dolomite for that purpose but always felt a Mini would be a good alternative and body parts are harder to source for a Dolly and I have been using that car for about 8 years on and off so a change is due, not that I intend to part with my old Dolly.
Looking for a set of 10 inch any thing cheap wheels and tyres so I can roll it around after I have got shot of the 10x7s and removed the very wide arches or spats as we used to call th hem in the 70's.
I have grey hair and am eligible for a senior citizens rail card so I should no better by now than to play about with old minis!
It's going to be painted white it's original colour and have Cooper s steels, I am going for MK3 Cooper S look so any info on colour / interior colour schemes for MK 3 S pictures brochure pictures would be helpful for me
I should mention that I also am a time served auto electrical engineer - I trained with none other than Joseph Lucas sales and Service Ltd in the early 70s
Thanks in advance!
Pete
