Taking it away from its original colour will decrease its value, but ultimately if you're planning on keeping it and not selling it then do whichever you prefer!

Island Blue is a very nice, and retro, colour.

the car has been in my family since 1990 and it was an awful red/pink color over the original then i painted it red/ black for my sister now looking at the original color as i have been taking the car apart it is growing on me but i love island blue so i may have to buy another mini

I'd keep it original, but Island Blue is a great colour.

Go with whatever colour you want as you are the one who has to look at it

Do it whatever colour you like, but do it completely, inside & out. I've always fancied a Mk.1 Cooper 'S' in burgundy metallic with a Jaguar sand-gold roof and wheels. Just never got around to it.

The 1971 MGB my Grandson & I are doing is going to be 1972 Ford Daytona Yellow, although it is red at present, or should that be red, British racing rust & primer!

But once painted it will be impossible to tell that it was ever red.

What puts people off colour changes is when the inside, under the bonnet & inside the boot is still the original.

I agree, do what you want, it's a mini and I'm sure it will have another re spray in its life cycle if you want to return back to original.

the poor thing has had two color changes in it's 41 years on this planet i am only going to restore it properly once and leave it alone although i am guilty of painting it in it's current color scheme for my sister
