How do, just joined the site, wish there were more Mini's in the States, but we're a larger than average people who mistakenly believe bigger is better.....

Business first: I'd like to add the attached picture to the left of this post, under my handle, but don't know how to do that, can someone walk me through it?

My girlfriend when I worked in South Africa in 2000 had a mini, and I fell in love with them. With the price of petrol tripling in three years here, I think it's time we all think small again.

I currently drive a 1994 R package Mazda MX-5 (we call the Miatas over here) and would like to get into a classic mini poste haste!

I have a 2-year-old son, and have been married to a wonderful woman for 3 years on June 14, 2006.

My interest lie in the bike engine cars (i.e. Zcars and such) and read the just eat up the build diaries I've found on this site, clever lot you all are!

My handle SAILINON was actually my license plate when I lived in North Carolina, the long version would be "sailing on". While I don't sail, I regularly drop the hammer on my Supercharged MX-5 and smoke cars worth 2 what mine is...........well, I used to, before my son joined us.

Take care,
Chris

Welcome Sailinon. To post up your badge as an avatar: go to My Controls, click on Edit Avatar Settings, read the specs to check it's not too big, click Browse on "Edit a new image from your computer", find the image and click on it and it should appear in the space above, Your Current Avatar. Click Update and that should do it.

Too much blank white around that pic, so I cropped it for you. Save this to your computer and then use it for your avatar. If you use the pic as it was all you'll see is a very tiny dot on a white square.

Here ya go matey:

Thanks Charlie Brown, Twice Monkey and Teapot!

You're a good group of folks.

You all remind me from the posts I've been reading of the Miata (MX-5) clubs here in the States. Good group of folks, available for good information and a hand.

Now, to just find the right mini, at the right price, on the "non-logistically-challenged" side of the pond for me!

Take care,
CJP

So true Nick, over here they're definately considered Girlie Cars, but few chicks would be seen dead in mine (especially my wife). Mine is the white one.Attached File  At_the_racetrack_070304.JPG   66.21K   5 downloads

A friend races them and made bumper stickers "It takes big Nut$ to race a chick car". He regularly spanks 911's at the local track, with a Miata he built up for Grassroots Motorsports $2005 challenge....
