Hello  :proud: In the past couple of days for an unknown reason when I start to reverse the car after about 1-2 seconds nearly cuts out I have to save it by planting my foot on the clutch..  :mmkay: Doesn't matter if I rev quite hard or just the normal amount it still goes to cut out. When and if it does it isn't like it is stalling as it doesn't lurch at all, the revs just drop and if I don't try and save it with the clutch it just dies and I have to start the engine again!  :goaway:  So yeah if anyone has experienced this or knows anyone who has and knows something please help haha, cheers all  :proud:

Seems odd.  Are you sure it's only in reverse or when you're slowly manouvering in either direction?  It might just manifest itself when you're going backwards because you're going so carefully?

You say it's not like it's stalling, is it like you've turned it off? And if the clutch is depressed soon enough it picks up and carrys on running fine

Air leak, possibly not an issue when going forwards, but reverse force might be causing a gap to open, air leak and cut engine.

+1 on air leak.

Could also be wiring, something getting pulled. Happened to me, wiggled the wiring, never happened again.

+1 on reverse light switch.

If you have a tach installed in your dash, watch it as you try to back up.  If the tach needle drops like a stone, that is an electrical issue.  If the tach needle coasts down to zero, something mechanical is at fault.

Hmm, he can save it with the clutch so the money may be on engine movement causing something to open up.
