Might be going to look at a tax exempt F-reg van tomorrow night. As i am on my 3rd mini i have a pretty good idea of what to look out for. But as i have only ever had saloons i wondered if there was anything in particular to look out for especially on the van. It is taxed and mot'd and apparently no rust apart from small bubbles on the bottom of 1 rear door.
Dont want to go and buy another rot box (especially for £1700), been there done that, all advice and tips appreciated. :(

Have a good look underneath the load bed floor (above the rear subframe, there are support braces which need to be in good nick).

Check all around the fuel tank/filler pipe and rear valance area for corrosion, the tanks are quite expensive (70 quid upwards I think!).

Doors will be Mark 1 type with external hinges so check for sagging and the condition of the A-Panels etc. Also make sure the glass slides freely or you could be looking at new slidy things (can't remember the real name!).

Behind the seats underneath are small cubby holes that extend back to the heelboard, usually house the battery and spare wheel, make sure its clean and dry in there, and that the heelboard is in good nick.

Side panels, check for filler in front of the rear arches.

Everything else, typical Mini!
