Regrettably up for sale is "Maggie" the mini, as seen on the Crimewatch episode about mini theft! Started life as Sprite, an automatic I believe but has had a manual 1275 MG Metro fitted. Up for sale only to make funds available for my Mk1 which is being restored.
Mot till mid June and Tax till end of November.
She is a great runner and is used as my daily drive every day and rarely lets me down. I've put about 3-4000 miles since buying her last June and have done a lot of motorway mileage comfortably sat at 70 mph with a lot more grunt for overtaking. Oil pressure is great, cold start around 55-60 psi which drops down to 40ish when hot. Has had regular oil changes. Smooth gear changes with no crunches.
Since owning her I've carried out quite a fair bit of work;
- New headgasket
- New 2 core radiator
- New alternator
- New front discs and pads
- The London mini centre replaced both diff output seals, gear rod seal and welded up the steady bracket
- Carb changed for HIF44 as for some reason there was a HIF38 on there
- Maniflow LCB and twin box 1/34" system brand new
That's about all I can remember for the moment of the work I've done., The tyres are Yokohamas and all have good tread as they were new not long ago. Thatcham CAT1 alarm and immobiliser, Hilos fitted. Its had a new ignition lock, door and boot locks. The radio/speakers come with the car, which has ipod connectivity. The boot corners are solid. It has had oversills fitted but this was done by Retro Minis in Birmingham who have done it properly and haven't left the old sills on.
There are some areas which need attention although not too bad for a car which is seeing all kinds of weather everyday. The drivers side A panel and door step will need some work. The rest of the front end is bubbly in places but solid. The rear left corner has seen a slight bump. The dashboard needs fitting correctly, at the moment theres a 4 switch panel in there but it needs a 5 switch fitting which I have but not got round to doing, this is due to changing back to a standard dash (genuine MPI one) as there was a fibreglass one fitted. It has its original 2 clock speedo and a seperate tim rev counter in the position where a rev counter would be on the dash. The spot lights are currently disconnected but easily wired up again.
Looking for £2000 Located in Hounslow London for the next few weeks then South Wales
