Hi. just purchased a small fire extinguisher for my mini ( you never know ) where do most people locate them ?

You'll need a roll cage for this...

Front of the passenger side floor crossmember is good. Or on the heel board or a bin in the rear so it's out of sight but easy to find.

As Dan says front passenger side cross member, safe, out of the way but easy and quick to get at if needed.

Easy to hand Is a must and not cable tied down! Located mine under the lower dash

I have mine in the rear driver side bin in its bracket with remote handle bolted to the driver seat extension plate. Its plumbed in to fire at the fuel pump / injector area although it would probably fill the entire engine space with the bonnet shut. Mine is a LifeLine system.

I got the car yesterday and have got it inside the dash for the time being but how can I mount it somewhere ? It was in the shed from my dad's old car and was just sat in the boot in a plastic box

I mounted mine below the dash. It is easy to get to and out of the way of my feet.
