Hi All,

Can anyone recommend a timing light maybe with the advance feature not looking for all singing all dancing but one that will do the basics well, have looked at the Gunson 77008. Also is a Colourtune Kit a sound investment

Cheers

Stuart

Thanks for the reply

That looks like a nice bit of kit for the price (SP8000, £44.95) is that the one you have?

I use colortune, it does take some getting used to, (doesn't everything) but will then allow you to get a really good setting. It's a bit of a pain swapping it from cylinder to cylinder to get an overall view, but in my opinion one of the best ways to set up a carb at home.

Ah! That's still just on my wish list. I've always assumed they were too expensive, how much do you expect to get one for?

Accuspark sell the Gunson one on there website for £97.90. How do you go about getting a trade card for Halfords.

Click the Trade Card link near the top. http://www.halfords....tegoryId=292503

If you don't meet any of those criteria, you could try doing what I did. Show a crapload of auto factors receipts. I showed pretty much all I had! Minispeed, Minispares, Mini Sport, Camberly Auto Factors, Halfords, eBay car parts sellers etc and tell them you're a "keen home mechanic". 'Tis what I did and it's a godsend. For instance, they sell BPR6ES spark plugs for £17.99 for 4. With trade card it's £4.23!
