I found the mini I have been looking for...call it the Holy Grail if you will...the problem is cash...and the lack of it.
I've looked at my Halifax options (which seem to rip me off at 9.2% for £5.2k), and looked at Lombard (a much healthier 5.8% for £5k). These are both over a 2 year period...which I am hoping to stay by.
Can anyone recommend another company to go with?
Loans...

try money supermarket
But I agree with Jammy, I took out a few loans to buy cars in the past, not a great idea unless you're REALLY REALLY good with your finances

I agree no doubts...I'm seeing it this way - the ammount of money im pouring into George compared to a much newer, far better nick mini is far higher...that and the case of efficiency, and tweaking down my usual spending habits I think I could set my mind to it.

I'd say northern rock everytime! Cheapest Apr, and they're not a bunch of scallies like Egg
As for taking out loans to buy cars, then why not????? I've never bought a car outright, mainly because i don't have a few thousand pounds to hand.
I did want to buy my first mini outright, but i looked at one that was double what i wanted to spend.....but i fell in love with it
Surely borrowing money for a car is better than having a spending spree on your credit cards....at least you're buying something worth while.

Well.... if you are going to take a loan out, I'd go for either Northern Rock or Direct Line. Give them a ring and check what APR your letting yourself in for (whats advertised on the website might not be what your offered )
As everyones warnings have stated - loans only work if you can manage your money well (or you have a ridiculously large income!!!)
