My Morris 1000 also had this problem and it was because of the cheap clamp! The ones with a single bolt are rubbish, they just bend open the more you tighten them, I swapped it for a better one with two bolts. As for the paste mine says to fit the exhaust then run the car without driving (or blipping the throttle!) for 15 minutes to make it harden.
Exhaust Keeps Blowing.

The clamp is one of the single bolt type, bought it cheap when I lost the other one whilst the engine was out, might have to change to a two bolt type

Will let you know later if it worked, off out for date night now so can't be typing on the forum whilst I'm out when it's the first night we've had a babysitter in over a year ;)

Haven't changed the engine steadies yet but I will be surprised if it works as I can't see any play in the ones that are on there
I'm running out of ideas, well cheap ones anyway, although someone has suggested a piece of pipe going inside between the manifold and the exhaust pipe to bridge where it happens, anyone ever tried this

Still having this issue even thought bought the two bolt clamp.

I had a very similar problem back in 1998 with my old (standard) Mini 25. It was blowing from the manifold with exhaust paste, different clamps, everything. Eventually I changed the manifold itself for a different one in my mate's shed and the problem instantly disappeared. Closer inspection revealed a hairline crack in the manifold that you couldn't see when it was on the car.

The blow is definitely at the clamp, I can feel it with my have from the minute the car is running and then the clamp itself is black so I'm hoping this isn't the problem with mine

Exactly the same symptoms I had. If you can get your hands on another manifold it's always worth a look to see if it fixes the problem. The crack in my manifold was actually on the part where the manifold meets the exhaust so it always looked like the clamp.

got pics!
first i cut off the cupped part of the down pie, if i remember rightly i cut it off where the pipe thickens, i then welded(quite crudely!) this part to the manifold
then i found a bit of stainless pipe that would slide over the piece that was now sticking out of the manifold and welded that to the down pipe
you can see the slot and the clamp to allow the stainless to clamp onto the modified manifold. i just put a bit of exhaust paste on the joint and clamped it on and it was perfect!
hope this helps
