The VERY reluctant sale of my unfinished RWD 175 BHP Project mini (Toyota MR2 – Mk2 – ACIS version)
The car comes with 95% of the bits required to complete the car. There is a large list of new bits but some of them will need a bit of cleaning up as they were fitted/stored some time ago.
I have taken some quick photos and will add them shortly. Unfortunately I didn’t get chance to clean everything first... there is a lot.
I am after a quick sale, so I am not willing to split the car (although the new parts alone are worth more than the asking price).
In brief:
• New Mini spares 4 Pot Alloy Callipers vented
o New Kevlar Brake Pads
o New Front Braided Hose Kit
o Metro vented discs (rusty but should be recoverable)
• Solid Mount Front Sub frame, professionally shot blasted and painted (offshore grade paint)
• Fully Adjustable Front End
o New Spax Coil Overs
o New Camber Tracking Kit
o New Adjustable Lower Arms
o New Longer Track Rod ends
o New Ball Joints
o Refurbished Upper Arms
o New Timken Wheel Bearings
o New Tie Bush Kit
o New Heavy Duty Tie Rod Ends
• JK composite seats – The padding needs replacing and is available from JK composites
• New 4 Point harnesses – x 2
• Fibre Glass Dash with centre console piece
o The centre console piece is not required due to a fabricated aluminium transmission tunnel
• Aluminium internal panelling/bulkhead
• New – Two Sets of custom Minator (minilite) alloy Wheels 6x13
o Set 1: Have New Yokohama A539 tyres, the front wheels are standard mini 101 PCD and offset (ET16). The rear have a 108 PCD (Ford) with ET23 offset.
o Set 2: Wheels only. The front have 101 mini PCD with ET23 offset and the rear have 108 PCD with ET16 offset.
o Note: one of the wheels is discoloured and will probably need repainting. I cannot remember if it is one with or without a tyre.
• Original 12” minilite wheels with knackered tyres (somewhere)
• Arc Angel Fibreglass flip front
• Two Sets of Arc Angel Sports Pack Arches
• Custom Made Roll Cage/space frame
• The following mini panels have been replaced:
o Heritage Scuttle (with dummy wiper arm holes plugged, filled and primered)
o Heritage A Panels x 2 (not fitted fully)
o Heritage? Front floor panels x 2
o Outer Sills x 2
• New Rear Valance (not fitted)
• Doors will need re-skinning
• Boxes of other bits i.e. lights, loom etc.
• 175 BHP MR2 engine (ACIS version) and gearbox including ALL ancillaries i.e. ECU, exhaust manifold, injection system, drive shafts (CV joints removed).
o These engines I purchased the MR2 complete and stripped it. The engine was running at the time.
• Ford Scorpio Running Gear including hubs, brake Callipers, drive shafts
• MR2 wiring Loom with all of the relevant connections identified, using tie wraps and tie wrap ID characters, as per MR2 wiring diagrams.
• New 4-Off BMW E30 engine mounts
• New Passat/A4/A6 Radiator (slightly dinted)
• Used Rear Protec Ally coil over Shock Absorbers - Non-Mini (these may not be included with the car as a friend is interested)
• Mondeo hand brake cable
• Wilwood Brake Master cylinder kit – single outlet
• Brake master cylinder – double outlet
• Original MR2 Clutch master cylinder
• Prototype rear swing arms with bearing rose joints - (I didn’t like the first attempt and was going to make some more)
• Original MR2 stainless steel tubing which ran the full length of the car connecting the engine to the radiator.
• Westfield type front wheel arches (for inner rear wheel arches)
• All internal panelling is aluminium (ignore the green colour)
I am sure there will be other items which I have missed off.
In total I have spent over £4k.

Fully adjustable front end, and mini spares 4 pot ally calipers with braided hoses. Unfortunately the fasteners are not zinc plated so have surface rust, as do the discs.
