"Police officer goes back to his desk. A telephone rings. He answers the phone and starts getting ready to leave. He presses a switch which diverts all incoming calls to the nearest police station, takes his hat and leaves. He walks towards the van. It is small - it's a Mini! I just got an old aa badge for the mini grill.
My dad was telling me about the aa riding motorbikes with side cars and that when they were driving towards you and spotted the aa badge on your grill they would salute you.image.jpg

Up until 2002 there were also AA roadside phone boxes and members were given a key to open the earlier ones which also had maps and a fire extingusher inside.

The boxes became "the lighthouses of the road".
Smartly dressed patrolmen in caps and leather boots would salute passing AA members, offering assistance with directions or breakdowns, even warning of police speed traps further down the road.

Strange it has the stink bug stance, is it hydro or is it common for vans to sink nose down?
because when its fully loaded the back end will drop and it will be at the correct height ;)

They used to use Rover 100's as their instructor cars too, how awesome is THAT!
