Try searching for 'Heritage VI GT' and you will more luck. You can still buy them, but there were some issues with the name 'Mini' being used when BMW bought the rights to the Mini brand and called it all MINI so it's now known and sold as the 'Heritage VI GT'.

What is it you want to know exactly? I am friends with Richard Porter of the Marcos Owners club and Jeroen Booij of Maximum Mini so can probably find details out for you if you're interested in a certain model

John Dickens made the mods to his MK4 Mini Marcos many years ago, the GT is a direct copy of his car. I have to say I've never seen a build thread on one, there are build threads on the regular MK6 though.

I'm looking for pictures of the interior and all round the exterior as I can't find descent pictures. Also another question when you buy the shell does it come with a log book or would it need to be applied for after the build?

It'll need an IVA test to register it for the road, £450 for the test, but most fail first time round I've heard.

Is there a list of what is required for the IVA? Also what would the logbook say?

I thought your budget was somewhat less than the circa £11,000 it would cost to get one of these built and on the road?

Well Iv been offered a reasonable amount for my 1275gt and I'm taking on a lot of work for the summer so I may be able to have a proper look into the project. But I'm going to be doing a lot of research before purchasing

Right marcos is sending me a brochure through and sent me a few pics but I have a few more questions.
Does anyone own a marcos on this forum?
Does anyone know the weight of a marcos shell?
Also for a tuning question if competing in a track race with under 1000cc what would you recommend doing? I was thinking an 850cc over bored, everything lightened and balanced maybe a 5 port cylinder head? The reason for the 850 is because it's the donor vehicle engine and I was thinking mpg for road use as well

Just use a 998. You'd spend a fortune getting it up to power, and you almost certainly won't keep the number plate from the donor vehicle. If you are lucky, you might get an age related plate if you can prove everything is from that 1 car, but it'll never be tax exempt (not for 40 years from when you register it anyway) so why not pick better parts? Like a freshened up 998?
