With no spacers I would have thought they would rub.

I've got a set of 5.5x12" Wellers and they're great. Much better grip over the standard 4.5" minilites. I think they would rub with non-spacered drums though.

You could buy a set of standard late drums, or minifins which have the same spacer built in. OR to save even more money you could just buy a spacer kit with longer studs from minispares.

What size do Huddersfield say they are? (if indeed they do actually give useful information like size! It'd make a change.....!)

The advantage of Wellers is that they're lighter than alloys, so excellent for racing...I might sell the Minilights on the car I'm buying just to get some...can't afford the brake conversion to run 10s though

I know, but Wellers have a history in racing, so I'd assume they make 'em light as possible. I may be wrong and someone can correct me if i am...but I know of a lot of Mini racers like Wellers

I can confirm that they are heavier then pretty much any alloy (of the equivalent size). I only use them for racing because they are cheap, look nice and don't need fancy nuts to use them. :)

Your '89 Mayfair will have spacered rear drums and discs up front so they will fit ! The question was whether they would fit non-spacered drums!

the ones that i want are 5 by 12". i have rang huddersfild spares and the woman said that she thinks they will fit but i dont want to order them and find they dont, and i dont want to fit spacers, so i might have to get some superlights.
