Hi guys, I have a problem with the longer drive shaft on the hayabusa setup. The cv at both ends have run dry and are for the bin, is it easy to replace both ends? I think it's the ford sierra setup with 28 splines at the wheel end and 26 splines at the drive end, I can't seem to find any complete new shafts that are 650mm with the correct ends. Any thoughts? Thanks David

The obvious answer is Z Cars, other than that you need to get them custom made, they are not standard ford driveshafts otherwise the mini would be the same width as a Sierra

I concur with David, I would stab that all the driveshafts used by Zcars are bespoke, 2 reasons, one as pointed out by David and secondly because they use a ford CV on the outer and whatever is required on the inner (in way of VTEC/Volvo/other car engine), so a bespoke item is always required and they have them in stock normally.

The Shafts are made bespoke for our minis feel free to Email Rob [email protected] or call 01964 527725 we have some in stock but others (mainly very early cars) will have to be made to order which can take a few weeks

Last summer i went to Zcars to pick up a complete race frame. The drive shafts is one of the few parts i want to order later. Now Zcars is closed i'm looking form some info about the drive shafts.

Where the drive shafts made by Zcars? Or did they order them by an company who made them for Zcars?

I would try Berrisford engineering, I believe they worked with Z cars

I was constantly destroying drive shafts but the latest set have done about 3000 miles with out any issues the cv boots I was using before were crap. Had these ones on and there working a treat yet had one burst on me.

Should have read this first before I posted a new topic. Sounds like I need a new bespoke drive shaft.
