Looking good and horribly quick progress. Lol!! Wish I could get a fraction done in a day that you can.

Cant wait for photos and progress

Living in Dubia you should have no excuse there mate, its always dry and proper redders :shades:

Never got the inner sill or wing sorted today, mainly due to the wheel rear arch which after i had ground through 3 different colours of paint i found it was peppered with rust holes.

So the only thing to do was to get rid of it and start from new.

A couple of hours of welding later and she's back solid again, including strengthen the floor mounts where the beam is going to be fitted.

Proper epic session on the car today, due to the sunshine i was able to finish not only the 2 front inner wings and inner sill but also grinder brush the whole floor, seam seal everything that needed it and then get a couple of coats of stonechip on her.

I feel as though i am finally getting somewhere now and not much welding left either (well unless you count the entire new front end which arrived today, minus the inners which i will fabricate myself O_O )

A coat of waxoyl (clear of course)  and with the bottom half finished and the front subby coming back from the powder coaters this week, next weekends plan is to finish sanding back the inner arches and front bulkhead, stonechip it, waxoyl and get the front subframe built up and on.

Quickly followed by the rear beam and coils so i can see how she sits.

Worked out today i have put 28 hours into prepping the shell so far, and just short of 30 foot of weld!

Added 2 outer and an inner sill, 3 and a half of the 4 arches 2 steps, pretty much the entire front floor and half a boot!

Utterly fantastic work. Not being able to weld much is why I ended up with a fibreglass car. Perhaps I should grab myself an old GT as I have a welder now...

(Note: Mrs B has said NO to any projects until I finish mine... :gimme: )

I did look at getting a fiberglass shell just for the 'no more rust' appeal and it was only the fact I need it back on the road pretty soon and not been able to find a decent 2nd hand one that I started repairing the original. in hindsight it would have been a quicker job to get a full floor and boot and weld it in a oner. Probably a lot easier as well. :)

Got a couple of hours free today so managed to get the floor stone-chipped and the rear beam all bolted up, all that time measuring, marking and remeasuring paid off when the beam fit like a glove :proud:

The coil-overs on the other hand were a total different kettle of fish, eventually (after my wife pointed out i had them on the wrong way round :shy: ) I decided to reposition the top mount to make sure they cleared the inner arches. Not sure if any-1 else has had snags fitting them but if i hadn't they would have badly rubbed under the weight of the shell.

The front subframe is back from the powder coaters, gleaming so the plan of attack tomorrow is to pipe up the rear brakes, waxoyl the rest of the floor and fit and build the front subframe up so i can get her sat on her wheels.

Bit of a change of plan as i run out of stonechip last week so delayed putting the front subby in.

So i decided to get rid of the front end and 20mins later it was off, it pretty much fell off to be honest mainly due to the amount of rot on the inner wings so i spent the day grinding and welding and fabricating new ones. I will put the front sections in as the wings go on to make sure i get them right.

With the front bulkhead and inner wings sorted (and the arrival of another 6 ltr of stonechip) the shell is now ready to fit the refurbed rack and subby.

TOP TIP :gimme:  As the colour of the car is going to be old English white and i dont want the expense of having to ship the shell to the painters and then build it up, i have mixed a little bit of yellow colouring to the white stone chip to match.

Subframe and front coils went on this morning with no probs.

And the front end mock up to check everything lines up as it should and to sort out templates for the inner wings could'nt have gone any better :D

The front end will come back off as i will weld it together and then fit it in one piece.

Managed to get the afternoon on the car and after a couple of hours clamping, repositioning, re-clamping and wondering which was out, the non-heritage lower windscreen panel or the heritage wings i finally got it square with the bonnet and grill fitting nice. The drivers inner wing is made and (fingers crossed for a bit of good weather) should go in tomorrow closely followed by the passenger side.

U have made them myself and reprofiled them in order to give me an extra inch clearance for the 13's i am going to fit her with.

A bit of seam sealing and a lick of stonechip and waxoyl and that should pretty much see the front end finished. :proud:

Next job is the doors to re-skim and possibly to weld in a bottom door section as the passengers is pretty bad. Then i can get them mounted and finally fit the A panels!

At last im released from work and can get on with the mini.

Only managed the odd hour in the garage over the last couple of weeks so i started to refirb the braking system then started stripping and rebuilding the engine.

The front end is now on and inner wings fabricated and in.

Both brakes and engine are also bolted in and things are finally starting to come together. :proud:
