Planning on a full strip and rebuild of engine too it's a fuel injected 1275
Any tips / best order of doing things will b much appreciated
Thanks a lot

Welcome
I love Sidewalk seats and door trims... no idea why they put tartan into a Mini named after an American pavement!!

Hi
Best of luck with the project, I really hope it goes well!
Nice to here your saving one of the old mini's!
I liked the sidewalks interior, its crazy tartan isn't it? I think I prefer it to my Rio interior, has a weird turquoise swirl pattern on door cards and seats.
Not sure if there's a specific order in which to get things done, but I reckon welding wise its maybe best to get all the important structural welding done first like sills and floors and kind of work from the ground upwards.outwards, but please not oversills! I hate seeing them on a mini, it just delays the inevitable, and makes the immanent repair even harder when it comes round to it.
How rotten is it?

Welcome and good luck with the project. We have a charcoal grey metallic sidewalk too, love it, until you find all the bolts are seized and rusted Enjoy your project, ours will be getting a full rebuild as soon as our Elf project is done.

nice one! thanks for the link to the sales brochure..definately swaying towards keeping it original at the moment, i do quite like the colour seems to have metallic pigment in it.
the interior is definately 'unique' but its different :)
its definately very rotten
after a look at dusk when the car was covered in leaves i could tell that it needs new wings, scuttle, boot lid, sills, floors...but im up for it :)
the MOT failure list as per its last one :
offside rear foglamp not working
offside steering rack gaiter split
n/s front lower suspenson balljoint
n/s front upper suspension balljoint
o/s front upper suspension balljoint
o/s front floor suspension component mounting corroded
exhaust emissions too high
obviously after being sat since then the rust has gotten worse and there are mice 'nests' in the engine bay and boot behind the fuel tank..
more pics to come

That's what I like to see, another Tartan Menace! Same colour as mine too, and when the sun shines on the paint, looks even better!! How many miles has it done?
