Taking my engine soon to a machine shop to be rebored to 1293 and possibly have crank re-ground....

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that I'd need to take my new pistons along for them to measure and bore the block to fit?

Want to confirm this so I can order then up :)

Thanks, Craig

Correct. This is what I was advised to do by a man with decades of experience. And mine has gone together beautifully so far.

I tend to get the block inspected and measured before I buy any pistons - unless of course I'm going for a massive overbore (as usual) - if the bores are proper knackered sometimes the shop will suggest going two sizes up instead of one, sometimes the bores are acceptable enough that they only need a re-hone.

A decent shop won't bore/hone until they have the pistons in their hands - the final bore size is based on the actual piston plus clearance rather than a nominal sum.
