I'm pretty stumped on this. It's really the only thing I can't figure out for myself.

What do you all suggest I do about this?

That looks familiar.

 

Find someone with a shell that's been written off in a rear end shunt to cut that section out for you

I had the same problem I found someone cutting up a shell and used that piece

I'm with Carlos on this. A pain to try and form a repair section unless you are really skilled with a sandbag and hammer. Oh and a English wheel.

Ive got a shell that I will be cutting up unfortunately as it was a big write off :( . Can even wrap it and post it. How desperate for it are you ??

Not too desperate right now. Nothing worse than a Mini being written off though, ouch.

 

I'm just gathering resources before I start any major work. I'd have to take it somewhere else for the body work anyway. I'll try to sand the paint off over the weekend, so I can see how far the rust has gone, then I'll know exactly what I'll need. Though in the 4 years I've had the Mini, the rust doesn't seem to have spread. There would appear to be a rather large storm approaching though, so I'll hold it off until that's passed.
