Had a problem since changing my radiator for an alloy one and changing my coolant. the car no longer runs up to the middle of the temperature gauge like it used to. I have never had problems with over-heating, just wanted to upgrade the system for longer journeys. I have changed the thermostat, it is an 82 degree one. Should I try a 88 degree one? or could I have an air-lock in the system or something?

Any advice much appreciated!!

I would suggest you fit a 88c one and try that, its what they recommend and was fitted to cars when unleaded fuel was the norm.

Yeah, It's got an un-leaded head on it, so should probably be running an 88 anyway
