I needed to replace an outer sill on the Mini City so started the work, of course its never as simple as just replacing the sill, the inner sill had gone as well and some of the floor, and of course the door step. I looked at the forum for good panel suppliers and there was good feedback for m-machine, so I placed my order for outer and inner sill and door step. I did have amongst my spares a 9" oversill but thats a bit naughty sticking that on, so went for the proper one, might as well do a good job as a bad repair with an oversill. Well the parcel  came and I was really impress with the inner sill so much floor attached to it, and the over sill, the only problem I have is with the door step I was sent. I wanted to steer clear of a magnum door step as from what I read in the forums they are not good to fit, but why have m-machine sent me a door step made by magnum, do they not press their own. Anyway time to get chopping and welding.

From what I have read m-machine do not as yet produce their own door step, I have unfortunately also read that the magnum door step panels aren't a good fit at all :(

I just got the combined inner/outer sill sub-assembly.
Excellent quality and much easier than welding on an inner, then doing a new jacking point followed by the outer.

M Machine dont make ALL the panels themselves.

They make a good whack of the panels, but some stuff are from other suppliers who have the presses etc.

Wish I had looked into this, I didnt know they did these I would have ordered one of those instead, but on the plus side I have just checked the catalogue, and I think the reason I was so impressed with the inner sill and the amount of floor on it, I just ordered the inner sill  11.31.04.28 and some kind soul at the factory has sent me 11.31.04.38.

The combined inner/outer sub-assembly goes just beyond the first 'flute' in the floor.
I'm intending to make a start on fitting mine on Wednesday. Although the shell I'm doing was supposed to have been 'fully restored' before I got it, it had those horrible oversills and underneath that the old outer sills, jacking points and ends were atrocious. Just a pile of rust inside. So it will be correct when done.

The first groove floor pan is great removes all the rot that cover sills cause as well as the usual rot around the rear drain hole..

Sorry but Magnum door steps are crap. period and yes i have adjusted, sectioned added metal and so on and are not worth the hassle.

Yes M Machine will be producing their own door steps in the not too distant future and i may be able to offer something depending on how the two steps come out that i have ordered from a local fabrication shop.
