Ran Out Of Fuel. Now Wont Start

Once or twice it did fire up but for a second or two then it sounded like a misfire and died off.
Things i have done/checked:
Getting fuel
Strong spark
Charged battery
New HT leads (all get good spark)
Compression is similar to the results i got the other day in the "burning oil" on turbominis thread although lower but this could be to do with the oil that was in the bored has now been cleaned out or burnt out.
I took the carb apart thinking it could have been dirt that was dragged through and blocked the carb. But this was fine.
Its just strange i was running fine before it conked out!
Just to make sure my coil pack is connected up 1 4
Connector
2 3
It seems like a ignition problem to me but I'm not sure how to check the timing.
By the way this is a turbo 1275 running megajolt and a SPI tank.

A turbo fuel system is a bit more complex. I'd be tempted to rig up a gravity fuel feed for the carb just to eliminate it as a possible cause.
How did you check for fuel? The best way would be to remove the return hose at the tank, be sure you have a good sized bottle to fill and a safe way of turning the pump on 'n off. You'd really need a pressure gauge to be sure the regulator is supplying the carb at 3 psi above boost.

Fuel is getting through the carb and onto the plugs no problem, so i know and can hear the pump working. I do have a fuel regulator set to 4psi.
When i checked the oil last night i did notice the smell of fuel on the dip stick. double checked this morning and it still smells of fuel so i am going to dump the oil out.
I knew the tank was empty as i took the fuel sender out and i could see inside. Also checked the fuel was getting to the carb by taking the pipe off after filling the tank up.

I know i am getting plenty of fuel on cranking, did a quick test with the fuel pipe off.
Hopefully it was just flooded
