Looking to buy an electric fan to aid cooling a bit, but I'm not sure whether one of these cheapo slimline fans from eBay are any good In terms of quality and longevity? Has anyone had any experience with these?  It will only need to be used in heavy traffic on hot days. (Such as L2B)

My cooling system is pretty much sound, as the engine has squeaky clean waterways, and I have a Fletcher prototype aluminum twin core rad. It's just that on those very hot days in the summer, when traffic is awful I would like to have the option to cool it down a bit.

Again, I'm taking it to Europe this summer, and although I haven't driven it in blistering heat yet, I don't want to be battling cooling issues.

Just out of interest, what is hot for a mini? e.g. Would the safe limit be around half way between Normal and Hot on the gauge?

As well as quality, I've also got to find one that doesn't restrict the original fan too much. Ideally, it has to go between the rad and inner wing, will 8/9" be about right? Are there any other options, such as sealing the gap between rad and wing with rubber, as seen on earlier models.

Thanks.
