so those of you that have been following the saga of my demonic mini, after removing the injector unit again and refitting it now runs lovely but i renewed the rear brake cylinders and shoes today because the old ones were leaking and when i tried to bleed the system no fluid was coming to the rear brakes i removed the main brake pipe at the back of the car and no fluid came out, i removed both pipes off the master cylinder and my son pumped the brake pedal and fluid shot out both ports, but with the pipes connected and all the bleed nipples closed there is no firmness to the peddle you can just press the peddle straight down is this because there is no fluid in the rear brakes. the front brakes are ok

You will need to start off at the wheel furthest away from the master cylinder. it can take some time , especially if you have disconnected the rear brake lines. Sounds like you have airi in the system. What method are you using to bleed the brakes?

thanks for the reply like you i tend to think it is a air blockage in the pipe work i have jacked the front of the car up in the air and opened both the rear bleed nipples hopefully fluid will run down the pipe and force the air out. too bleed the system i am using a hand pumped vacuum system that draws the fluid out from the bleed nipple. under normal conditions it works great.
