The rear floor shouldn't be flexible, even without outer sills.

Just to clarify, when you say rear floor, do you mean where your feet go if you sit on the back seat or do you mean the boot floor?

And also, what do you mean by flexible? and where about on the floor is flexible?

Ben

I was told that I didn't need to brace with box steel as the inner sill is not that intrusive and iv checked and the windscreen and rear window fits fine

Yes it's where u put your feet wen you sit in the back of the car
The floor moves up and down about 4 to 5 mm 200 mm from the back and 50 mm from the crossmember and from the first ridge by the inner sill to the last ridge

If you have chopped the whole inner sill out it will flex and will need bracing, something like this

or like this

my inner sill doesn't go that far it stops at the bin attached to the rear seat pan and it stopped about 40mm before the first ridge of the floor how do I find out if it has moved and is it supposed to flexor so much up and down thanks for your help

Sounds like you are fitting a repair inner sill where to be honest are dire as they do not really do the job properly.

The rear floors on my lads Project also flex slightly and its had a lot more work than your car. A lot of it is down to all of the sections you have replaced much like we did.

When I started doing this I didn't know much about it be honest that's why got the smallest sill

Is the up-and-down flexor in the floor okay? will strengthen up as I put the outer Sills on all do I need to do something to repair it now

Could also be heat distortion from the welding which causes the panels to stretch and become flexible.

Perhaps that is the problem.

Panels can be 'tightened' using heat shrinking but you will need an oxy acetylene torch to do the job properly.

It should be ok. Like most thin metal panels once you start adding heat by welding then they expand and stretch. This will cause some flexing. Not much that can be done other than adding some reinforcement which becomes a pain.

We are not worried with my lads car as i know all of the welding is to a high standard and the strength is there.

My boot floor repair ended up looking like a replica of the Himalayas :-)

Just about to do both sills and any parts of the inner sills that need to replaced, won't know until I cut off the Oversills and Original Sills. Initially I didn't consider bracing but was going to put at least a diagonal brace across each door.
