Can some one tell me the difference is in the main components in a metro turbo engine and a mg metro ,
I know the head cam and pistons are different but what about the rods and crank and block? Are they stronger ??

Some later turbos apparently had a tuftrided crank shaft but aside from that they are the same as N/A metro engines.

The camshaft isn't an MG one it's jus a bog standard 1275 cam.

The Turbo engines differ from the NA MG Metro motor, the exhaust valve stems are 8mm and sodium filled, the pistons have a thicker crown and 12cc dish and the Turbo engine just has the standard camshaft, the 1st motion shaft nose bearing is also larger.
The early NA MG has a better cam, larger inlet valve and higher compression.
Phil.
