Hi,

I've just bought these recaros-

The leather needs restoring but they were cheap! They're from a 4dr car so they don't tilt. Still don't know if I'm going to fit them, but I'm too short for my cobra seats!

Does anyone have a guide to fitting them? I've seen loads for fitting Escort recaros but I don't know if it's the same process. I'll have to mount them to my cobra subframes- does anyone know if the frames would still be able to tilt?

Cheers,

Spenser

The Cobra frames should be able to lock down and flip forward.

Cam.

edit: You just need to see if they will bolt on or not, and whether the seats are too tall to flip forward or not. That'll need measuring :)

edit again :P I have some minispares cobra frames so I could measure how much clearance they give when flipped up (somehow, I'm not sure how) but I am happy to help if you have any ideas on how much room you need/have.

That's helped a lot cheers!

I have seats in at the moment so I could measure the clearance when flipped and roughly add the height of the recaros! Hopefully they'll fit!

I'll give you a shout if I can't figure it out,

Cheers though! :D

No problem. I might be able to get pictures of how the frames mount too if you want. I need to get them off my buckets anyway :D

Hopefully they fit!

Cam.

The seats are too tall with cobra frames, and the seats are too wide for the cobra subframes.

Ah, Anthony30 got your answer there! Cobra frames won't fit. You could look on some of the interior threads etc... and see who has recaro's in their Mini and how they fitted them. Might be of some help?

Cam.

Ahhhh. I see. Do you reckon bits could be welded to make them fit? I've seen it been done on Escort recaros and they look taller and wider.

The pieces of steel that go across the seat base are thick, and bolted using the original subframe points. I could get the seats into a position so I could JUST squeeze past into the back. Just sold the seats in favour of my original mini 30 seats.

If I was fitting seats again, I would use MPI or SPI seats, less messing around with subframes ect.

Yeah not a bad idea. I'll keep my cobra seats in for now and save up for those reclining cobra seats or something.
