The guys at the '59 Register were really helpful with Speedy - they know their stuff! - http://1959miniregister.com/

Without wanting to divert you from TMF, the Early Mini Forum on the Specailist Mini Forums is another great source for information and parts - http://www.specialistminiforums.com/.  You have to be a member to view posts.

Congratulations and good luck - I look forward to seeing Huxley's progress when time and funds allow :-)

Looks a great find mate, Nice to see another Mk1 rescued.

Is the colour Maroon, It looks very similar to my mk1 barn find "Hudson"  ;-)

Hudson is down as Maroon on his V5 and Heritage certificate, I would say Huxley is the same colour ;-)

Got our hands full with this one thanks, plus garage is officially full now.  O_O

Had a quick check over the car this afternoon, mouse nest count is currently at 4 and I haven't got inside yet, no mice so far. Most of the floor seems shot, the 70s fondness for covering stuff in fibreglass has failed to hide the multitude of sins.

Roof and guttering seems relatively solid and got two decent doors.

Also interesting is that it has a navigator lamp fitted, the previous owner suggested it might have been rallied in the past at some point.

I'm not jealous one bit ;) where did you get that luggage carrier on the red one? I'm after one for mine as I'm using it for camping pretty often, sick of cramming everything on the back seat

If I had the space, I too would have a Huxley :proud:

He's brilliant - looking forward to seeing the rebuild thread

It came with another mini I bought, we liked it so much we kept it when we sold the car.

Yeah they suit the mini well, they look a bit hippy. I'll keep searching for one, seen a few types but haven't found one like yours yet.

Just remembered, its one of these

Having just seen the price, I'm glad I kept mine, the previous owner was glad to see the back of it since he didn't like it and threw it in for free.

Thanks for that mate, bit steeper in price than I thought! Still, I'd rather get that one than a cheaper version that won't look as good :) I'll have to give them a ring and sort one.
Cheers :)
