Don't go stirring up trouble at the DVLA trying to get this corrected because you really don't want them looking into your car. Just so that you are aware of the situation you are in, and believe me I'm not judging you in this, if you have bought just a shell and a V5 and that is literally it with no other parts then your car is legally scrapped and cannot be returned to the road with its current Identity. To get that shell on the road completely legally you will have to jump through certain hoops. I personally don't suggest you do anything illegal, and the position of both the forum and the law is that there is no difference between a logbook rebuild and a stolen ringer.

It might have been imported from Jersey or Guernsey etc, my bini Cooper came from northern Ireland at the start of this year, the paper work is now a right mess and has a special note in the comments box on the front page even though northern Ireland is part of the UK! What registration letter does it have?

Northern Ireland have their own version of the DVLA - everything is different. Driving licence numbers are different and the English Police have to speak to the NI DVLA to get hold of keeper details as it's not stored on their computer. It's a totally separate entity :gimme:
